Can I use table salt mixed in water? I don’t have sea salt

What are ways to help my congestion, my nose is stuff and it’s always runny ahh it’s horrible. What can loosen it up and free me from congestion. thanks!

I’ve just come down with a cold last night and my nose is stuffed and running. I went to the store to get nasal spray, but I also saw Nasal Gel. Never really using either, I decided to go with Nasal Gel because unlike the spray, it did not mention a possible side effect as causing the very thing it remedies. It also sad it was non-habit forming or whatever, which the sprays are.

Anyways, the question is, what’s actually the difference? Does one work better than the other?

Also, as a side-question, how often can I apply the Nasal Gel? The box doesn’t say! How crazy is that?! I have Zicam Nasal Gel.
I lied, it does say how often, every 4 hours.

Okay, I know someone that is using a nasal spray and he has a cold. The problem is after using it for more than the recommend time. He started sneezing A lot of boogers, snot whatever you call it and also blood and he stop using it and now it’s getting worse. I hear the solution is to increase the dosage but what do you think?

Why is it that you should not use vicks sinex…etc. type OTC nasal sprays for more than 3 days. I have a minor cold for 4 days with congestion and i want to continue using the medicine. Are there any side effects? and…is it ok to use it for a a day or 2 longer? if not, how long should i rest before continuing the use of the medicine?

i have a bad cold and my mom bought a bottle of afrin. she also has a cold and used some of the spray. i asked what it feels llike an she said it feels like water is going up your nose…i hate that feeling tho!
is that seriously what it feels like? and also, does it burn or sting?

Do any of the anti snoring nasal sprays ( or tablets ) that I see offered on the internet really work ?

Does anyone know of a good non-perscription medication or nasal spray for post nasal drip and slight fluid in the ears.

Since Early August, I have had a scratchy throat with the feeling of a little fluid in my ears when I yawn. I’m nearly sure this is post-nasal drip from allergies. Since we have had so much rain in New Mexico this year, the flowers and weeds have been up in full force. Sometimes It goes away for a few days or a week then comes on full force.

Maybe something that doesn’t cause me to get too drousy? Or not!
